In the late summer of 2018, BeStrong International contacted Beregovoy Studios to document their outreach initiative for kids living in the Cutler Manor apartments, a low income neighborhood in Cutler Bay. We took the ongoing project on in stride which will take place throughout the regular 2018 Miami-Dade County public school year and we’ll be posting regular updates and behind the scenes below here as BeStrong aims to connect with and impact the lives of these young individuals for their better future.
Some BTS above recapping a day we got to sit down with Rennie, someone who’s story and aspirations found their way into being a big part of our documentary. During our visit, just days before Valentines day, the AC had broken in the community center club house. Our crew and director Alexander, couldn’t hold back the sweat from the heat. And working next door to a group of restless children complaining about the AC only made getting clean audio and the day more difficult. But nevertheless, the children stayed and participated in the cooking class that was set up for them this day. Although we spent a lot of time in Audition and Izotope cleaning up his audio, Rennie delivered us one of the best interviews we could’ve hoped for.
